The former Vietnam national team midfielder has joined the Thai team on a long-term contract.

After Hoang Vu Samson, today the second Vietnamese player to play in the Thai League was confirmed, Michael Nguyen. This Vietnamese-Czech midfielder will play for Air Force Central next season.

Before joining the Thai team, Michael Nguyen was a member of B. Binh Duong but did not gain the trust of coaches from Le Thuy Hai to Tran Binh Su. In total, he had 36 appearances in V.League after 3 seasons, mainly as a replacement when the main center back was injured. Last year 2017, Michael Nguyen began to be trusted more when B. Binh Duong rejuvenated its force.

Michael Nguyen was called up to the Vietnam national team in 2013 and played twice. However, due to professional reasons, he did not make a good impression and has not played for the Vietnam national team since then. Initially, he impressed with his good height (1m84) but later showed that his football skills were not superior to those of Vietnamese players.

Air Force Central is a newly promoted team from Thailand and the second club to own a new Vietnamese player for the ASEAN slot, after Hoang Vu Samson left Hanoi Club to join Buriram United.
