(Baonghean) - On the morning of May 23rd, in Vinh City, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Vietnam Institute for Rural Industry Research and Development, and Oxfam held a workshop to launch a new project: “Expanding the development of the rattan/bamboo value chain for poor women and ethnic minorities.” This is one of the poverty reduction activities implemented by Oxfam in Nghe An. The project will expand the scale of activities currently being implemented in Tuong Duong district and continue to be implemented in three other districts: Que Phong, Quy Chau, and Con Cuong. The goal is to increase income by 30-40% for approximately 2,500 to 3,000 beneficiaries.
The project will be implemented over a period of 3 years, funded by Oxfam and the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation with a total budget of approximately 28 billion VND.
