Another highland village in Nghe An is quarantined

Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 2485/QD-UBND, establishing a medical isolation area to prevent and control Covid-19 epidemic for La Ngan village, Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son district.
Accordingly, the Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee decided to establish a medical isolation area according to Decision No. 3968/QD-BYT dated September 16, 2020 of the Ministry of Health on promulgating "Guidelines for organizing medical isolation in areas with Covid-19 epidemic" for La Ngan village, Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son district, Nghe An province.

In addition, 3 nearby villages, Tat Thong, Luu Hoa, and Luu Thang, are socially isolated according to Directive 16. The remaining 7 villages of Chieu Luu commune, Xieng Thu, Lan, Pieng Cu, Khe Nan, Hong Tien, Luu Tien, and Khe Tang, are socially distanced according to Directive 15. The lockdown period will start from 0:00 on July 18.

On July 17, Ky Son district recorded the first two Covid-19 cases in the area. They were the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law in La Ngan village, Chieu Luu commune. Both were F1 of the patient in Cham Puong village (Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong), and were quarantined since July 16.

Although it is located in Ky Son district, Chieu Luu commune has some villages bordering Cham Puong village of Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong. This is currently the epicenter of the epidemic in Nghe An with more than 20 cases recorded in the past 2 days. This village is currently under medical quarantine to prevent the epidemic. Like Luong Minh, most of the residents in Chieu Luu are ethnic minorities, and life is very difficult./.
