(Baonghean.vn) - At approximately 5 PM this afternoon (July 7, 2015), a drowning incident occurred in Quynh Hoa commune, Quynh Luu district, resulting in the deaths of three young children.
According to the victims' family, at the time of the incident, Ms. Ho Thi Nho, residing in Hamlet 2, Quynh Hoa Commune, went to her family's pond to cut banana trees for animal feed. She went ahead, followed by her three grandchildren, Ho Thi Lai (7 years old), Ho Thi Linh (4 years old), and Ho Thi Hang Hai (4 years old). After finishing cutting the banana trees, Ms. Nho looked around but couldn't find the three children. After searching for a while, she found three pairs of sandals on the pond's edge but no sign of them. A gut feeling prompted her to wade into the pond and discover the three children submerged in the deep water. When the incident was discovered, neighbors rushed to help, pulling each child ashore to provide first aid. However, due to the late discovery, all three children had already died.
Tragically, Lài and Lĩnh are sisters from the same family, while Hải is a cousin and the granddaughter of Mrs. Hồ Thị Nhớ.
Following the incident, local authorities and neighbors came to offer assistance and share in the grief of the victims' families.
