Pilot for cars carrying tourists in urban areas and tourist spots

Ministries and branches are assigned to strictly control and be transparent about revenue and tax obligations of transport enterprises participating in the pilot activities.

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has just given instructions on piloting the implementation of tourist transport services by car to contribute to promoting tourism development.

The Government noted that it allows piloting but must ensure fair competition and anti-monopoly.

Accordingly, the Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Transport to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to issue a Plan and guide localities and enterprises to pilot the implementation of passenger transport services by car in urban areas and tourist centers connecting with airports under their authority and in accordance with the provisions of law; paying attention to ensuring fair competition and anti-monopoly.

The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Finance to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Transport and relevant agencies to implement regulations on the management of tickets and electronic invoices connected with tax authorities to strictly control and transparently control revenue and tax obligations of transport enterprises participating in the above pilot activities.

Previously, at the end of 2016, the Prime Minister also agreed in principle to pilot the implementation of tourist passenger transport services in urban areas by double-decker, open-roof specialized cars and passenger transport services connecting urban centers to airports by high-quality 16-45 seat passenger cars in the following provinces and cities: Hanoi, Quang Nam, Da Nang, Thua Thien Hue, Lam Dong, Kien Giang, Ho Chi Minh City with a pilot period of 5 years.
