Accordingly, taxpayers can fulfill their tax obligations on the Tax Department's electronic portal, from tax registration, tax declaration, tax payment to tax-related inquiries and information lookups.

Initially, the General Department of Taxation will conduct a pilot program in two provinces/cities that have already implemented a centralized tax management system, and then expand it to other provinces/cities nationwide in the following years.

To date, the electronic tax filing service has been implemented in all 63 provinces and cities and over 300 subordinate tax offices.

Accordingly, the online tax filing system has provided services to more than 397,130 taxpayers; at the same time, the system has received and processed more than 17.6 million electronic tax returns.

Regarding electronic tax payment services, they have been implemented in 18 provinces and cities nationwide, with nearly 4,000 businesses participating and a total revenue collected for the state budget exceeding 2,000 billion VND.

Simultaneously, in September 2014, the Tax Department implemented the Centralized Tax Management Application System (TMS) at local tax offices. This is considered an integrated tax management system that allows for the centralized management and storage of information on all types of taxes nationwide to meet the needs of centralized tax management operations.

When implemented, the TMS system will replace all 16 existing tax management support applications and support data processing for business processes related to tax registration, file management, declaration processing, tax settlement, domestic accounting, and debt management.

At the same time, TMS helps the Tax Department easily apply standardized management business processes nationwide at all three levels, avoiding unnecessary errors in data exchange between levels and systems, minimizing operating costs and errors.

Steps to register for the electronic tax filing service:

Step 1:Taxpayers register to use the electronic tax payment service on the online portal http://kekhaithue.gdt.gov.vn following the steps in the user guide.

Step 2:Taxpayers can download the account debit authorization form from BIDV bank here or on BIDV's electronic portal.
