Singing contest about the two resistance wars and President Ho Chi Minh.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan, the singing competition featuring songs about the two resistance wars and President Ho Chi Minh at the grassroots level should be launched in 2013 and organized nationally in 2014.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan has assigned the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to take the lead and coordinate with the Vietnam Musicians Association, VTV, VOV, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Ministry of National Defense, and other relevant agencies and organizations to develop a plan for organizing a regular singing competition of songs about the two resistance wars and President Ho Chi Minh, to be submitted to the Prime Minister before March 31, 2013.
To ensure the singing competition contributes to reviving national history and fostering pride in the country and President Ho Chi Minh, the competition content should include an introduction to the origin and author of the song, as well as the social context in which the song was created. According to Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan, contestants could be divided into two groups: amateur and professional singers. There could be awards for young singers (under 30 years old) and older singers. The Ministry of National Defense could also have a separate award for singers performing songs about the Army and its branches.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the competition at the grassroots level should be implemented from 2013 and the national competition in 2014 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory and the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army.
