Students who want to enter university to train teachers must have good academic performance.

The regulations apply to universities, academies, and colleges; colleges and secondary schools enrolling in teacher training majors; departments of education and training; and organizations and individuals involved in the implementation of regular university enrollment; college enrollment in regular teacher training majors; and intermediate enrollment in regular teacher training majors.

Specifically, the threshold to ensure input quality according to the admission method based on high school academic results to enter the teacher training group is as follows:

For university level, high school graduates with grade 12 academic performance of good or higher are considered.

For college and intermediate level, high school graduates with 12th grade academic performance of good or higher are considered for admission.

Priority scoring framework by subject and region

The Draft Circular also stipulates that the difference in admission scores between two consecutive groups of subjects is 1.0 (one point), between two consecutive regions is 0.25 (one quarter of a point) corresponding to the total score of 3 exams/subjects (in the admission subject group) without multiplying the coefficient on a 10-point scale.

The admission score is the total score of the exams/subjects on a 10-point scale for each exam/subject of each admission combination and plus the priority points for the subject and region according to Article 7 of this Regulation and is rounded to two decimal places; For candidates with the same admission score at the end of the list, admission will be considered according to the additional conditions announced by each school. If the quota is still exceeded, priority will be given to candidates with higher wishes.

The draft Circular is open for public comments by the Ministry of Education and Training until February 28, 2018./.
