(Baonghean.vn) -Information from Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted said that the Ministry of Education and Training has just completed the re-scoring of the 2016 National High School Excellent Student Exam. Accordingly, a Math student from Nghe An had his exam score mistakenly added to his score.

That is the case of Vo Hai Thien, a 12th grader in class A1. According to the initial results, Thien got 26.5 points (3rd prize). After the review, although the score was not announced, Thien's score was not only enough to win 2nd prize (at least 27 points) but also enough to enter the 2nd round of the preliminary selection for the National team to participate in the International Mathematical Olympiad (from 27.5 points or more).

This is a rare case, the main reason is due to the wrong addition of component scores of the test. Along with Thien, in the Math subject, there are 3 more cases where the results were revised. They are candidates from Hung Yen, Phu Tho and Quang Binh provinces. All of the candidates' test scores after the review were upgraded from Encouragement to Third Prize.

With this result, in 2016, the Math team of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted has 8/10 members continuing to participate in the second round to select the national team. This is also the Math team with the largest number of members in the country.
