(Baonghean.vn) - The Social Sciences subject combination (History - Geography - Civic Education) is chosen by many candidates for graduation recognition. This is also considered an easy subject to score well on, especially when tested in multiple-choice format.

This is also the final subject of the National High School Graduation Examination. Therefore, regardless of the results, students feel relieved to have completed a long journey after 12 years of high school.

At the exam center at Ha Huy Tap High School, student Le Van Lich said: Of the three subjects in the combined exam, History is the most difficult, with knowledge spread across the entire curriculum and many confusing answers.

This year's exam, while somewhat different from the sample exam, had very few questions about Soviet history. Geography and Civics, in particular, were quite easy; most students did well on Civics.

Coming from Ethnic Boarding High School No. 1, candidates Vy Thúy Vy and Lô Thị Yến Vy excitedly shared: "I practiced the exam questions very thoroughly and reviewed carefully, so I wasn't surprised or taken aback by this year's exam."

The questions closely resembled the exam structure, and we all did well. We hope to get high scores to be admitted to the University of Law and the University of Culture.

The Social Sciences subject combination was also chosen by many candidates in mountainous districts. Hoang Van Huu, a student from Anh Son 3 High School, who took the exam at Con Cuong High School, said: "The exam was moderately difficult, not too hard. However, the History subject was a bit long, with a total of 40 questions, the most difficult being questions 30-40, focusing on the history of the periods 1929-1931 and 1945-1975."

These questions required high-level thinking and reasoning, while the others were of moderate difficulty and closely related to our curriculum. Geography and Civics were relatively easy. I did fairly well on all three subjects and had enough time, so I hope to achieve the scores I expect.

At the exam center at Do Luong 2 High School, many candidates emerged from the school gate with radiant faces. Very satisfied with his exam, candidate Nguyen Van Truong, a 12th-grade student from the Do Luong Continuing Education Center, said: "Compared to last year's exam questions that I reviewed during my preparation, I found this year's exam much easier. I answered 85% of the questions correctly in all subjects. My goal this year is to get into Vinh University."

Tran Thi Hang, a 12th-grade student from class T1 at Do Luong 1 High School, shared: "I'm in the science stream, so I think the social science exam wasn't perfectly 'accurate,' but I found the questions for all three subjects this morning to be of moderate difficulty and closely aligned with the curriculum."

I did best in Geography and worst in Civics, probably scoring around 5 points in each subject.

This morning, 381 out of 441 candidates from Quy Chau district, representing 86.3% of the candidates taking this year's high school graduation exam, completed their exams.

Candidate Quang Thi Hong Chi said: "I took test code 310 and found the exam to have a good level of differentiation. Students with average or above-average academic ability could do well, while the more challenging questions required critical thinking, especially in History. Besides, the exam wasn't too long, so the time allotted was sufficient for me and my classmates to complete it."

At the exam center at Tay Hieu High School, candidate Nguyen Thi Thao Ngan said: the History exam was more difficult than Geography and Civic Education. Compared to last year, this year's History exam was longer, and the difficulty level increased accordingly. There were fewer easy questions, and the application questions required comparing and making general observations about historical events, thus demanding a higher level of skill.

The Geography exam wasn't difficult to score 5-6 points on, as using the atlas alone accounted for 2-2.5 points. Additionally, completing the chart analysis section would have resulted in an average score. As for Civic Education, half of the questions were based on fundamental knowledge, while the other half were situational questions. Some situational questions required more critical thinking; failing to read and understand carefully could lead to incorrect answers.

Ho Van Hung, a 12th-grade student from Hoang Mai High School, said: "Like many other candidates, I found this year's Social Sciences combined exam to be of moderate difficulty."

The questions were all based on the textbook curriculum, plus some additional review exercises. Specifically for History, I found that the questions focused on Vietnamese history, including important events and milestones. However, many of the answers were chronologically structured, which could easily lead to confusion if one didn't have a solid grasp of the subject matter.

Specifically for Geography, the exam was relatively manageable, and we were allowed to bring our geography atlases into the exam room, which was very helpful during the test. I scored 8 points in each subject of the Social Sciences combination this morning.

At the exam center at Quynh Luu 1 High School, candidates were quite relaxed after completing the Social Sciences subject group. Ho Thi My Hanh, a 12th-grade student from Nguyen Duc Mau High School, said that her strength lies in the subjects of the humanities group (Group C), so she did relatively well on the Social Sciences subject group exams this morning. Because she studied thoroughly and had a firm grasp of historical events, milestones, and the significance of history and geography, she answered quickly and had plenty of time to review her answers.

For the Civics subject, the exam questions are entirely based on the textbook curriculum, so if you have a solid understanding and memorize the knowledge, you will do well on the exam. My fellow candidates and I estimated our answers to be around 30-35 questions per subject.

According to the Department of Education and Training's report, 98 candidates were absent from the final exam across the province. Additionally, there were no violations of exam regulations by candidates or invigilators.
