This year, Le Viet Thuat High School (Vinh City) has 1,156 candidates taking the exam and is one of the two exam sites with the largest number of exam rooms in the province with 49 rooms. In addition to candidates from the local school, this exam site also has the participation of candidates from Hermann Gmeiner High School, Nguyen Truong To High School (Vinh City) and Vinh City Continuing Education Center.

Before 2 p.m., despite the hot weather, many candidates from other schools arrived to familiarize themselves with the exam site and check their personal information.

Candidate Vi Van Hieu - a student at Vinh City Continuing Education Center said: I am studying both general education and vocational training at the Vietnam - Germany Vocational College, so I am not too concerned about university admission. However, I still try my best to complete the exam well, get a high school diploma and later have many opportunities to continue studying to improve my qualifications.

Before that, when registering for the exam online, Hieu had received support from teachers at school, so there were no errors in his application. After arriving at the exam site, he checked it again and was quite assured because all the information matched.

With the same exam score as Hieu, candidate Chu Hai Anh - class 12A2, Le Viet Thuat High School said that he was not too worried because he was taking the exam at the school he was studying at. In addition to the two compulsory subjects of Math and Literature, he registered for the elective subjects of Physics and English and hoped to achieve high scores to be able to pass the Foreign Trade University.

Of the four subjects, Hai Anh is quite worried about the first subject, Literature, because this is not her strength. The Literature exam will follow a completely new structure and is outside the textbook program. She hopes that the exam will address the issue of the new era of science and development. This is an important issue for the country and is also an issue that we have reviewed quite thoroughly.

With 49 examination rooms, Le Viet Thuat High School has mobilized 123 staff and teachers to perform duties, including 116 supervisors from Tan Ky High School, the provincial Ethnic Boarding High School, Ha Huy Tap High School and a number of secondary school teachers.

Teacher Nguyen Kieu Hoa - Principal of the Provincial Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities, head of the examination site said: Although this is an examination site with a large number of candidates, up to this point, the preparation work for the exam has been completed. This afternoon, the candidates have come to complete the examination procedures and we request all supervisors to disseminate the examination regulations to the candidates, noting some important issues because this is the first exam to be implemented according to the 2018 General Education Program.

From 2:00 p.m. this afternoon, at 72 examination sites across the province, more than 40,000 candidates at the Nghe An Examination Council simultaneously went to the examination sites to complete procedures, present their Citizen Identification Cards, verify information and receive their Examination Papers according to regulations. If there are any errors in personal information, priority subjects, priority areas, it is necessary to immediately notify the supervisor or the person on duty at the examination site for timely handling.

Besides, because this is the first exam to be conducted according to the new program, there are many changes in the organization, so the dissemination of exam regulations is given special attention by the exam sites.

According to regulations, for each exam session, candidates must be present at the exam site and exam room on time, follow the exam site's signals and the invigilator's instructions. Candidates who arrive more than 15 minutes late after the test start time signal will not be allowed to take that exam session.

This year, the Ministry of Education and Training has released two exam schedules for candidates taking the new General Education Program and the old 2006 General Education Program for independent candidates to use for graduation or university admission.

The group of 12th grade candidates, taking the graduation exam for the first time, must take 4 exams, of which 2 are compulsory: Math and Literature.

In addition, candidates choose 2 elective subjects from the following subjects (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology and Foreign Languages).

Candidates taking the old program will take the Literature, Math, Foreign Language exams, and one of two Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Social Sciences (History, Geography, Civic Education).
