Candidates taking the national high school exam are supported with 125,000 VND

According to information from the Ministry of Education and Training, in the 2016 national high school exam, the state budget support is based on the number of candidates registering to take the exam at the exam clusters organized for candidates to take the exam to consider recognition of high school graduation and admission to universities and colleges hosted by universities (called university exam clusters).

The support level is 25,000 VND/exam subject, on average each candidate takes 5 subjects, the total support level per candidate is 125,000 VND/candidate.

In addition, the central budget supports business expenses for cadres, lecturers and students to go to the provinces to organize exams at university exam clusters as directed by the Ministry of Education and Training.

For students who take the exam only to be recognized as graduating from high school in 2016, but participate in the university exam cluster, the local budget will pay 60,000 VND/exam/candidate.

Exam clusters hosted by the Department of Education and Training are for candidates taking the exam only for graduation recognition, and funding will come from the local budget.

Revenue from exam and admission fees at the rate of 35,000 VND/subject (after deducting for the Ministry of Education and Training and the departments of education and training according to regulations) will be transferred to university exam clusters to organize the exam.

The Ministry of Education and Training also guides the examination councils in detail on expenses and expenditure levels such as data entry expenses, exam printing expenses, electricity and water support expenses, drinking water expenses, medical support, gasoline support, etc.

The Ministry also noted that in 2016, examination councils will not charge candidates for re-examining their exam papers as in previous years.

This year’s national high school exam will start from July 1 to July 4 with 8 subjects including Math, Literature, Foreign Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, and Geography. Of which, Math, Literature, and Foreign Language are three compulsory subjects. The remaining subjects are chosen by candidates./.
