What should independent candidates who have not graduated from high school pay attention to?
If candidates are allowed to reserve their 2016 Physics exam results for high school graduation, they only need to register for Chemistry and Biology exams.
On April 5, the Ministry of Education and Training issued a document answering questions from candidates when registering for the 2017 National High School Exam.
CandidatesIndependent candidates who have not yet graduated from high school must register to take the exam at a high school or a continuing education center (for continuing education candidates). At any location where they register to take the exam, independent candidates must take the exam with 12th grade candidates at that location.

Independent candidates who are allowed to reserve their 2016 exam results can choose the component subjects of the combined exam for graduation consideration. For example, candidates who reserve Physics will only need to register for Chemistry and Biology of the Natural Science combination exam for graduation consideration.
"Many universities do not use the exam results reserved from 2016 for admission, so candidates need to study the admission plan of the school they plan to apply for admission to register for the exam accordingly," the Ministry of Education emphasized.
Another point that independent candidates who have not graduated from high school need to note is that unlike candidates who are studying in grade 12, the registration for graduation recognition is done at the end of May. Independent candidates submit the graduation recognition registration form together with the exam registration form.
Some candidates wondered why they did not graduate from high school in 2016 and then continued studying at a continuing education center. So, to be considered for graduation recognition, do candidates need to register for a foreign language exam when the 2017 exam regulations stipulate that continuing education candidates do not have to take a foreign language exam to be considered for graduation?
The Ministry of Education and Training responded that determining which program a candidate will study must be based on the student’s academic record. If the candidate’s academic record (at least grade 12) includes academic results issued by a continuing education center, the candidate is allowed to register for the exam according to regulations for continuing education candidates. In this case, the candidate does not have to register for the foreign language exam for graduation consideration.
