National High School Graduation Exam 2020: No reduction in subjects, sample questions available.
The Minister of Education and Training has directed specialized units to promptly complete the development of sample exam questions for the 2020 National High School Graduation Examination for all subjects, ensuring a balanced and appropriate level of knowledge tested.
Speaking to VietNamNet on the evening of March 17th, Mr. Mai Van Trinh, Director of the Quality Management Department (Ministry of Education and Training), said that the 2020 National High School Graduation Examination will be organized using the same stable method as in 2019.
However, in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Education and Training will make adjustments to suit the new situation.
Specifically, the Ministry will study ways to reduce the curriculum load to ensure educational goals are met while also being suitable for the teaching conditions of schools under the impact of the pandemic.
“The Ministry of Education and Training will develop and soon announce sample exam questions for the 2020 National High School Graduation Examination that are appropriate for the reduced curriculum due to Covid-19. This aims to guide schools in organizing teaching and review sessions, so students and teachers should not be overly worried,” Mr. Trinh said.

Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training had also adjusted the 2019-2020 school year timetable for the second time. Accordingly, the end of the school year was extended to before July 15, 2020. The 2020 National High School Graduation Examination was held from August 8 to August 11.
Following the Prime Minister's directive to the Ministry of Education and Training to promote online learning, streamline the curriculum, and shorten learning time, Minister Phung Xuan Nha also requested that specialized units promptly issue specific guidelines on online and television-based teaching so that localities and educational institutions have a basis for synchronized and effective implementation. Particular attention should be paid to the assessment of the content and quality of online lectures.

Reviewing the program to develop a plan for reduction and streamlining. "The program needs to be reviewed and simplified, but quality must be ensured; the streamlining should not be done mechanically, but rather by eliminating content that is not truly necessary," Minister Nha said.
Minister Nha also requested subordinate units to review the difficulties and obstacles faced by educational institutions in order to propose that the Government consider providing support to overcome these challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic.
