Hoang Mai Town: Opening of the 3rd session - 1st term of the People's Council

(Baonghean.vn) -On July 10th and 11th, 2014, the People's Council of Hoang Mai Town solemnly opened its 3rd session - 1st term.

The meeting aims to review the implementation of socio-economic development tasks in the first six months of the year in the area, discuss solutions for implementing tasks in the last six months of 2014, report on the results of implementing the Resolutions of the Town People's Council and the situation regarding the resolution of voters' requests from the previous and upcoming sessions.

According to the report of the People's Committee of Hoang Mai Town, in the first six months of the year, the town achieved and exceeded many planned targets. The total value of production is estimated at VND 3,383.66 billion, equivalent to 52.78% of the plan, an increase of 15.4% compared to the same period last year. The economic structure has shifted in the right direction and positively, with industry and construction accounting for 52.8%, agriculture, forestry and fisheries 24.2%, and services 22.9%. In agriculture, large-scale model fields have been built in Quynh Vinh and Vinh Hoa Cooperative. Seafood harvesting in the first six months reached 13,838 tons, equivalent to 57.27% of the plan, an increase of 18.7% compared to the same period last year; aquaculture production reached 535 tons, and shrimp seed production reached 423 million units, equivalent to 59.4% of the plan, an increase of 27% compared to the same period last year. The movement to build new rural areas has received attention. Construction and basic industries performed well, with the building materials manufacturing industry increasing by 12.7%, and many products such as cement, tiles, bricks, sand, and gravel showing significant growth. The town focused decisively on land clearance for National Highway 1A section passing through the town, handing it over to the construction unit on schedule. In addition, it concentrated on building infrastructure and facilities in the town.

At this session, the Council will hear reports evaluating the implementation of tasks in the first six months of the year, reports on the settlement of budget revenue and expenditure in the first six months, reports on the results of crime prevention, social evils control, traffic safety, reports on receiving citizens, resolving complaints and denunciations, and anti-corruption work, reports on the implementation of the new rural development program, and reports from the Standing Committee of the Council, committees, and groups of representatives of the Town People's Council.

Following the discussion, there will be a question-and-answer session on issues of concern to voters such as shrimp diseases, construction permits, land encroachment, environment, internet service business, electricity quality, policies for people with meritorious services, etc. At this session, the Town People's Council will pass 3 resolutions on the socio-economic situation in the area.
