Thai Hoa town launches a campaign to support the "For the Poor" Fund.

(Baonghean.vn) -On May 7th, the Fatherland Front Committee of Thai Hoa town organized a ceremony to launch the fundraising campaign for the "For the Poor" Fund in 2013.

In 2012, the entire town mobilized contributions to the "For the Poor" Fund totaling 743.7 million VND, achieving 213% of the plan. The town supported the construction of 42 solidarity houses; assisted 100 poor students who excelled academically; donated 190 Tet gifts to poor households; and purchased seedlings and seeds for 25 poor households to develop their economy... The support from organizations, individuals, and all sectors of the population encouraged poor households to improve their lives, contributing to reducing the town's poverty rate to 5.8%.

At the launch ceremony for the "For the Poor" fund in 2013, 17 agencies, businesses, and localities participated in the fundraising with a total amount of 217 million VND.

On this occasion, the Fatherland Front Committee of Thai Hoa town awarded certificates of commendation to 6 collectives for their noble deeds in helping disadvantaged people in the area.
