Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh wishes to rest at Tu Hieu Pagoda, where he became a monk at the age of 16.

"Now, the Dharma milk of Tu Hieu Pagoda, Vietnamese Buddhism has spread all over the world... I feel that the time has come to return to the Pagoda to live with my brothers and sisters in these years. The desire to return to live in the land of my ancestors and build the practice of studying at the Pagoda has been my deepest concern over the past years," Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh wrote.

"Now, we have millions of descendants of Tu Hieu Temple from many different countries around the world. Out of compassion for the descendants and compassion for those future generations, I want to enter nirvana at the Temple so that the descendants of the Temple have roots and a place to return to for refuge," the Zen master wrote.

Earlier, on the afternoon of October 28, Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh returned to Tu Hieu Pagoda to the welcome of monks and Buddhists. He will stay in the same room he stayed in when he visited the pagoda in 2017.
