Arsene Wenger has just confirmed that Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has officially accepted the offer to become the coach of the Gunners' academy.

All former Arsenal players have the opportunity to return to the club and obtain a coaching license. We are delighted to have him,” Arsene Wenger announced, revealing that the former French striker had accepted the offer to become a coach for the Emirates Stadium academy.

Thierry Henry spent eight years at Arsenal, winning two Premier League titles and three FA Cups before moving to Barcelona and then to the United States to play for New York Red Bulls.

During his four years in the US, the former French striker returned to Arsenal several times to train with them and even played for the Gunners on loan in the winter of 2012.

Arsene Wenger offered Henry a coaching position last year, but the former French international only agreed this year. Henry currently works as a commentator for Sky Sports.
