Lack of morality, devoid of humanity.

(Baonghean)Why are so many officials acting so recklessly these days? Our whole group fell silent at that question from a colleague at a domestic affairs newspaper.

I was speechless because he was absolutely right. And I was also speechless because that kind of reckless behavior is purely typical of "our people, our land." First, there was the embezzlement and misappropriation of policy funds by some local officials. Then there were some grassroots officials using fake diplomas to make a living. And most recently, there were those "officials" colluding with children to declare their living parents deceased in order to claim death benefits. They wouldn't hesitate to do anything. They even interfered in matters of ancestral worship and graves in an unwarranted manner. That's what happened in Hung Xa (Hung Nguyen).

Due to disagreements over the relocation of graves within a family clan, a dispute arose. To find common ground, the Deputy Chairman of the commune issued a notice "on the temporary suspension of tomb construction at the cemetery" pending a suitable solution. However, just four days after this notice, the same "deputy" used a handwritten document bearing his signature and the commune's official seal to allow a family to build a tomb in that exact spot without consulting the "rightful owner" of the family cemetery. Only upon visiting the graves did the "victims" discover this blatant violation of their spiritual beliefs.

With his inconsistent behavior, the Deputy Chairman of the commune allowed someone to encroach upon a family's cemetery land and illegally build a tomb on it. Strangely, when questioned by reporters about this bizarre behavior, the "deputy" quickly and enthusiastically admitted his fault, as if he had just stamped the commune's official seal directly onto a handwritten document permitting the desecration of someone else's grave. It's inexplicable and inexplicable to understand the eccentric actions of this commune official. He seems to act completely impulsively, disregarding any order or regulations, doing whatever he pleases, regardless of right or wrong.

This is truly an irresponsible, careless way of working that shows a lack of respect for the government and contempt for the people. It is both unethical and inhumane. Such behavior should not exist within the public administration.
