Police major died while pursuing criminals
Major Vi Van Luan was shot while surrounding a drug trafficking group with his teammates.
At around 7:00 p.m. on February 6, a working group of 5 officers and soldiers from Muong Lat District Police, Thanh Hoa, carried out a plan to arrest and eradicate human trafficking criminals.drugIllegal in the hot spot of Ta Com village, Trung Ly commune to Mau village, Muong Ly commune.
While on patrol, the police encountered a group of suspects. Gunshots rang out. Major Luan (40 years old, Pu Nhi commune police, mobilized to participate in the case) was shot and died on the way to the District Medical Center.
Police are hunting for suspects involved in the shooting.

Major Vi Van Luan worked for many years at Muong Lat District Police, and in 2020 was transferred to Pu Nhi Commune Police.
Muong Lat is a district bordering Laos and the Northwestern provinces, and has been a drug "hot spot" in Thanh Hoa for many years. This area has many remote villages and complex terrain, so drug criminals take advantage of it to transport contraband goods here. Every year, the police and border guards break up dozens of major drug trafficking cases.
Mau Village, Muong Ly Commune is about 40 km from Muong Lat town, located on the banks of the Ma River.
