Lack of money to spend, took a knife to rob women's property

On March 1, the Investigation Police Agency of Nam Dan District Police said that the unit is temporarily detaining Dinh Sy Truong (born 1993, residing in Yen Quang hamlet, Thanh Yen commune, Thanh Chuong district) to investigate and clarify the act of robbery.
Previously, on two consecutive days, the Nam Dan District Police on duty continuously received reports from two victims about their property being robbed.

Specifically, at around 6:30 p.m. on February 20, 2019, Ms. Phan Thi Thu Hang (born in 1989, residing in Nam Nghia commune, Nam Dan district) was driving a motorbike home. When passing the slope of Con Co in Nam Nghia commune, a man on a motorbike approached from behind and pulled out a switchblade, threatening and forcing Ms. Hang to hand over her property. At this time, a passerby's car approached, so the man panicked and ran away.
Previously, at around 3:30 p.m. on January 21, 2019, Ms. Trinh Thi Lam (born in 1986, residing in Hamlet 2, Thanh Mai Commune, Thanh Chuong District) was driving a motorbike on her way home. While passing Mung Bridge in Nam Loc Commune, Nam Dan District, a man on a motorbike approached from behind, pulled out a knife and threatened to ask Ms. Lam to stop the motorbike.
Too scared, Ms. Lam stopped the car, then this man asked her to give him all the belongings in her handbag, at the same time took a switchblade and stabbed Ms. Lam in the right hand.
After robbing the property, the man drove away. Due to a wound on her arm that was bleeding profusely, Ms. Lam had to go to the hospital for emergency treatment and receive 11 stitches. Ms. Lam was robbed of a handbag containing a mobile phone, 1 million VND and some other personal documents.
Determining this to be a serious case, with the subject's methods being reckless and daring, Nam Dan District Police devoted all their efforts to investigating and arresting him.
Through screening and using professional measures, the detectives found that Dinh Sy Truong had many suspicious signs. Truong had a previous conviction for property theft, and recently had unusual signs such as being frequently absent from home and often appearing in the lottery area.
After collecting all the documents and evidence proving Dinh Sy Truong's criminal acts, at about 12:30 on February 26, discovering the subject appearing at a barber shop in Thanh Yen commune, Nam Dan District Police detectives raided and successfully arrested Dinh Sy Truong.
At the police station, Dinh Sy Truong initially confessed to his crime. Truong said he robbed to get money for personal use due to poverty.
