Border Guard Lieutenant who shot many people committed suicide
According to information from the Border Guard of Long An province, Lieutenant Dat committed suicide after shooting and injuring three other officers. Initial information shows that Lieutenant Dat suffered from depression and had just returned from treatment.
A representative of the Long An Provincial Border Guard said that Lieutenant Ta Quang Dat committed suicide at Binh Hiep Border Guard Station.
Lieutenant Dat was assigned the task of Staff Captain at Binh Hiep Border Post (Kien Tuong town).

Earlier, at around 4:35 p.m. the same day, at the Binh Hiep Border Guard Station, Lieutenant Dat used an AK gun to shoot at several of his teammates. Captain Vu Hao Hiep (Deputy Commander of the Binh Hiep Border Guard Station, Kien Tuong Town) was seriously injured and later died.
In addition, 3 people were injured, of which 2 are being treated at Long An Provincial General Hospital, 1 person with minor injuries is being treated at Kien Tuong Town Hospital.
Of the two officers being treated at Long An General Hospital, Phan Van Loi (29 years old) suffered an open wound in his thigh, with the bullet still suspected to be inside. Tran Minh Triet (38 years old) suffered an open wound in his left leg.

Immediately after the incident, all Border Guard Station officers withdrew from the station to avoid losses.
After committing the crime, Lieutenant Dat held a gun and barricaded himself in the station, threatening those approaching the scene and then committed suicide.
Long An Provincial Border Guard is continuing to handle the incident.
