Türkiye says Russia and Ukraine want to find a compromise.

According to TASS, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that he is looking forward to "light at the end of the tunnel" in resolving the conflict in Ukraine with the continuation of direct negotiations between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations.

"If the negotiations continue, there will be light at the end of the tunnel," the Turkish Foreign Minister said on NTV television channel.

According to Fidan, the Ukraine conflict has "very serious consequences regionally and globally." "Beyond the humanitarian tragedy, we are facing a situation that will lead to an even larger war and divisions on the international stage. This is a difficult and costly war. A war in which everything except nuclear weapons is used," Fidan said.

The Turkish Foreign Minister added that, during the third round of talks in Istanbul, the conditions under which a meeting of the leaders could be held were discussed.

"In principle, an agreement has been reached on holding the summit in Türkiye, but the delegations at the negotiations have a lot of work to do due to differences in position. Now, as they are talking, I see a desire to find a compromise. If this continues, I believe there will be a temporary solution," the Turkish Foreign Minister confidently stated.

Meanwhile, Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia, stated that the end of the conflict with Russia "would be the political end" for leader Volodymyr Zelensky.

"For Zelensky and his team – who entered the 2019 election with the slogan of resolving the conflict with Russia, and then actually instigated fighting with Russia – this agreement now seems like the end – at least politically. They understand that returning to the path of peace would mean the collapse of their power," Kosachev said in an interview.

Furthermore, the politician reminded everyone that after the conflict ends, Ukraine will have to "pay its debts".

"70% of European aid to Kyiv has been disbursed in the form of loans. There was more free aid from the US under Biden, but now there is no free aid at all. One way or another, Ukraine is in debt. And they will have to give it away or the country will go bankrupt. Zelensky doesn't want to do that. He understands that he will remain president as long as the conflict continues. And he, in my opinion, has become the main obstacle to achieving peace agreements," said the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia.
