The document formalizes the agreement announced a day earlier between the two countries' prime ministers.
According to the source, Deputy Foreign Minister Feridun Sinirlioglu represented the Turkish side in signing the above agreement in the capital Ankara.
The agreement with Israel, reached after years of negotiations, is a rare rapprochement in the divided Middle East. Relations between the two countries were strained by the 2010 killing of 10 pro-Palestinian Turkish activists by the Israeli navy as they tried to reach the blockaded Gaza Strip.
