Jealousy in Vietnamese showbiz

Episode 8 of Southern Star 2016 with the theme "Stage of Life" aired on the evening of April 22. Four teams: Sac Mau, Hon Viet, Duyen Que, Huong Phu Sa brought a skit combining many art forms: Cai Luong, Hat Boi... to express their thoughts and concerns about their careers.

Meritorious Artist Hoai Linh shed tears many times on the "hot" seat when sympathizing with performances about love of the stage.

Duyen Que team performed a skit about jealousy in showbiz. Hoai Linh thinks Hoang Chau needs to show more about this bad habit. He said: "Maybe that is exposing your back to others, but more than anyone else, artists in the profession must understand this problem. That is also what makes me feel the most heartbroken. My grandparents often say 'only those who have too much in the house go out on the street'. Colleagues sometimes love and share a lot, but sometimes they dissect each other boldly. Whenever someone has a problem, 4-5 people gather to 'add fuel to the fire'. Seeing that makes me feel very hurt. That's why sometimes I think I should stay home and not dare to touch anyone."

Hoai Linh also shed tears at the performance about the difficulties of young artists in pursuing the art of Cai Luong by the Sac Mau team. The performance featured Meritorious Artist Phuong Hang in the role of a singer who had to quit her job due to family circumstances. The Cai Luong star's demeanor and acting greatly contributed to the success of the performance. At the end, MC Dao Duy shared that this was a skit that his team wanted to dedicate to those who consider theater and art as their career. Hearing this, Meritorious Artist Hoai Linh covered his face with paper and burst into tears.

According to the actor, young people encounter many difficulties when entering the profession, but once they have eaten the rice bowl of the ancestors, they will never be able to give it up for the rest of their lives. "Artists who choose this acting career do not dream of being carved into stone tablets or bronze statues in the future. We only know that like silkworms, they spin silk, and that the beautiful silk they give to life is their passion and their career," he confided.

During the program, Hoai Linh also mentioned the rumors about himself in the past. The artist said he felt sad when hearing many rumors that he was hit by a car or died of illness. However, he accepted the rumors because "when you choose the career of being a daughter-in-law of a hundred families, whether people praise or criticize you, you should be grateful."
