Car inspection time is shortened to about 30 minutes

(Baonghean) - With the active participation in the direction and application of science and technology of the Transport industry, up to now, the average time for each inspection of a car has been shortened to about 30 minutes.

After about 30 minutes of waiting, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoan in Thanh Chuong district received a set of stamps certifying the quality of the 4.5-ton truck inspected at the Nghe An Motor Vehicle Inspection Center.

Mr. Hoan happily shared: “With a closed process and the inspection center's staff working actively, the inspection time met the requirements and expectations of our drivers. To achieve that result, in addition to the inspection center's efforts, I myself regularly check, maintain, and repair the vehicle to ensure safety in operation.” Immediately after completing the inspection procedure and paying the road use fee, Mr. Hoan returned to his hometown to continue providing freight and construction material transportation services for local people.

Each vehicle that is inspected is carried out according to the correct procedure including 5 stages such as: General identification; cabin inspection; body, frame; chassis inspection; lighting system measurement and dozens of small inspection items. During the inspection process, the inspection centers resolutely do not issue registration certificates to vehicles that do not fully meet the regulations, especially passenger and cargo vehicles.

To speed up the inspection process, ensure objectivity and transparency, Nghe An Motor Vehicle Inspection Center has installed more modern equipment, surveillance cameras, and instructed officers and employees to ensure the inspection progress. On average, each vehicle now only takes 30 minutes to complete the inspection process. The unit also publicizes the inspection process and puts it online to strengthen management and supervision. For more than a year now, the unit has also applied inspection registration via the website: www.dangkiemnghean.com; vehicle owners only need to register their license plate number, phone number, and email address, and the inspection center staff will schedule a specific time to bring their vehicle for inspection.

“There are many factors that have contributed to the shortening of car inspection time, including: 3 inspection facilities in the area have invested in modern equipment; people have invested in buying many new cars with better quality; administrative reform and application of information technology in vehicle registration have brought about positive results…” - said Mr. Nguyen Quy Khanh - Director of Nghe An Motor Vehicle Inspection Center.

This approach has created favorable conditions for officials and civil servants with vehicles to arrange reasonable time for car inspection. At the same time, the center regularly reforms administrative procedures, innovates the work of receiving documents and returning stamps and inspection results, thereby quickly releasing vehicles, reducing waiting time for vehicle owners. In addition, in the past 9 months, the unit has also performed the task of collecting road use fees from vehicles worth over 100 billion VND.

In Nghe An, there are currently 2 automobile inspection centers, of which 1 center is a unit under the Department of Transport with 2 inspection facilities (in Vinh city and Thai Hoa town) and 1 center in the form of socialization. Currently, a business is investing in building 1 more inspection center 37-05D (in Nghi Long commune, Nghi Loc district) in the form of socialization to meet the increasing demand for automobile inspection of the people.
