The contract term between coach Duc Thang and FLC Thanh Hoa is kept secret.

At the beginning of the 2018 season, Coach Nguyen Duc Thang left Saigon FC after two years as head coach because the team had many major changes in both organization and personnel, and the new leadership in Saigon did not agree to maintain Mr. Nguyen Duc Thang's assistant coaches.

Ten days ago, Coach Nguyen Duc Thang was one of five coaches (along with Le Huynh Duc, Phan Thanh Hung, Nguyen Minh Phuong and Nguyen Huu Thang) awarded the Pro Coach certificate - the highest coaching certificate granted by FIFA, with the right to practice worldwide.

Responding to the question of taking on the role of head coach of FLC Thanh Hoa, coach Nguyen Duc Thang said: “After receiving my diploma from the Pro Coaching class, I am very eager to test myself and apply what I have learned over the past 2 years. I cannot promise about FLC Thanh Hoa’s achievements in V-League 2018, but I can only say that I will do coaching based on the existing foundation of personnel and playing style that the club has been shaping over the past time…”.

After officially taking office in Thanh Hoa, Coach Nguyen Duc Thang has a lot of work to do to bring his team back to the championship race. The first thing is to strengthen the defense, after 6 matches, conceding 8 goals, Thanh Hoa is the team with the 5th worst defense among the teams competing in V.League this season.

Responding to reporters at the new head coach's introduction ceremony this morning, Mr. Doan Van Phuong - Chairman of FLC Thanh Hoa Club shared: "The contract term between coach Nguyen Duc Thang and FLC Thanh Hoa has not been disclosed, but I confirm that this is a long-term contract, enough for Mr. Thang to demonstrate his ability. Regarding the goal, we have not given up on the championship ambition, but at least coach Duc Thang's task is to bring FLC Thanh Hoa to the Top 3 position."

On the other hand, stars who have not yet shone at the Thanh team, such as Vu Minh Tuan, are waiting for this young coach to discover them.

Coincidentally, Mr. Duc Thang will lead FLC Thanh Hoa to play the first match in V.League 2018, which is the confrontation with the old club Saigon in round 7 taking place at Thanh Hoa stadium this weekend./.
