Weather 1/8: Rain decreases in the North, some places in the Central region have sunshine
(Baonghean.vn) - This morning (August 1), in the Northern provinces, there is still rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms. The provinces from Thanh Hoa - Thua Thien Hue have scattered showers and thunderstorms. Meanwhile, from Da Nang to Binh Thuan, it is hot and sunny during the day.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, currently (August 1), the northwest-southeast trough is still running through the Northern region. It is forecasted that due to the influence of the northwest-southeast trough, this morning in the Northern provinces there will still be rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms; in the Northeast and Viet Bac regions, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, and very heavy rain in some places. The water level on Hoang Long River at Ben De is decreasing. It is forecasted that by 7am this morning, the water level at Ben De will drop to 3m (at level BĐ1).
The northern mountainous region, especially in the provinces of Lai Chau, Son La, Hoa Binh, Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, and Quang Ninh, is warned of a very high risk of landslides. The provinces and cities of Hoa Binh, Ninh Binh, and Hanoi are warned of flooding in low-lying areas.
