Early this morning(January 21st), a cold front affected the northern mountainous region and some areas in the northeastern part of Northern Vietnam. In the Gulf of Tonkin, there were strong northeast winds of level 6.
Forecast:Today and tonight (January 21st), the cold air mass will continue to affect other areas in the Northeast and North Central regions, and then will affect some areas in the Northwest and Central regions. Winds will shift to the Northeast direction inland at level 3, and in coastal areas at levels 3-4.
Due to the influence of a cold front, the northern provinces will experience rain and showers today (January 21st). In the northeastern provinces and Thanh Hoa, the weather will be intensely cold, with mountainous areas experiencing severe cold. The lowest temperatures will generally range from 12-15 degrees Celsius, 8-11 degrees Celsius in the northern mountainous regions, and below 8 degrees Celsius in some high mountainous areas.
In the Gulf of Tonkin and the northern South China Sea (including the waters around the Hoang Sa archipelago), the northeast wind will gradually strengthen to level 6, sometimes level 7, with gusts up to level 8; the sea will be rough. From late afternoon and tonight, in the offshore waters of Central and Southern Vietnam and the central South China Sea, the northeast wind will be strong at level 6, with gusts up to level 8; the sea will be rough.

In the North Central provinces, there will be rain, moderate rain, and in some places heavy rain (rainfall amounts generally 20-40mm/24 hours, with some areas exceeding 60mm/24 hours). From the afternoon and night of January 21st to the end of January 22nd, in the provinces from Quang Binh to Binh Dinh, there will be moderate to heavy rain, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain (rainfall amounts generally 40-80mm/24 hours, with some areas exceeding 100mm/24 hours).
