Forecast:Due to the influence of the upper westerly wind trough combined with the weak strengthening of cold air, from now until the end of tomorrow night (January 9), in the Northern provinces there will be rain, moderate rain (common rainfall 40-80mm), especially in the Northwestern and Viet Bac provinces there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, some places have very heavy rain and thunderstorms (common rainfall 70-120mm, especially in Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Ha Giang some places have over 120mm). During the thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

On small rivers and streams in the upper reaches of the Red River basin, there is a possibility of a small flood with a flood amplitude of 1.0-2.5m. During this flood, the flood peak on the rivers will be below BĐ1.
