Weather on December 15: Cold air continues to strengthen

The North and North Central provinces experience widespread cold, with severe cold in mountainous areas; northeast wind level 3 inland, level 4-5 in coastal areas.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that on December 15, cold air will continue to strengthen in our country. It is forecasted that tonight and early morning of December 16, the cold air will be strengthened.

Due to the influence of strong cold air, from December 16-20, in the North and North Central provinces, widespread cold will occur, with severe cold in mountainous areas; northeast wind inland level 3, coastal areas level 4-5.

Due to being deep in a cold and dry air mass, from the night of December 16 in the North, the clouds will decrease, there will be no rain at night, and sunny days. The lowest temperature at night and in the morning during this cold spell in the Northern Delta will drop to 8-11 degrees Celsius, in mountainous provinces the temperature will drop to 4-7 degrees Celsius, and in high mountainous areas below 3 degrees Celsius. There is a possibility of frost and frost in mountainous and high mountainous areas; disaster risk level 1.

From the morning of December 16, there will be moderate to heavy rain in the Northern and Central Central provinces. In Hanoi, the lowest temperature during this cold spell is commonly 9-12 degrees.

From early morning on December 16, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the sea off the Central and Southern regions, the South East Sea (including the waters of the Truong Sa archipelago) will have strong northeast winds of level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9; in the North and Central East Sea (including the waters of the Hoang Sa archipelago) will have strong winds of level 7-8, gusting to level 9-10.
