More than just an opening ceremony, the 2025 Workers' Month in Nghe An kicked off with a large-scale program, marked by strong organizational impact and profound humanistic values. From a spectacular mass performance by 1,000 workers and laborers to timely gifts of support; from knowledge dissemination sessions to on-site healthcare programs, the program clearly demonstrated the role of the working class and trade unions.

To achieve these results, the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor Unions made serious investments in both organizational thinking and practical implementation. From the conceptual stage, the Organizing Committee determined that the performance should not only be purely for show, but also convey the image of a strong workforce and a capable trade union organization that can unite and spread its influence to the grassroots level. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Head of the Propaganda and Women's Affairs Department of the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions, was primarily responsible for the content and staging of the performance.
Preparation for the performance began months in advance, focusing on selecting songs with clear ideological meaning, suitable for the spirit of Workers' Month and commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. After many options, two songs, "Workers on the New Path" and "The Nation's Complete Joy," were chosen. The main song praises the spirit of action of workers in the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country, affirming the central role of laborers in the development process.
After finalizing the choreography, at the end of March 2025, the Provincial Labor Union organized a training course on folk dance and sports performance for core union officials. On the same day as the training, sample clips created by the core union officials were sent to all grassroots unions for synchronized implementation.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Trang, Vice President of the Nghia Dan District Labor Union, shared: “Outside of working hours or during breaks, music resounds in factories, industrial parks, schoolyards, and assembly halls… The steady footsteps and decisive movements are vivid evidence of the program's widespread impact. Thanks to the close guidance of union officials and the high level of participation from workers, the two folk dance performances quickly spread as a physical training activity that fostered camaraderie among workers and employees. Taking place in the atmosphere of the whole country looking forward to the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, everyone's spirit was further boosted.”
With 1,000 union members participating in the performance, the Head of the Propaganda and Women's Affairs Department of the Provincial Labor Union, Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, had to personally lead the entire group, ensuring uniformity and aesthetic appeal in each movement. Because the participating union members were mainly workers from various enterprises, scheduling was the biggest challenge. The active support from the units and the self-effort of the union members helped to complete the rehearsal plan. Before the show, the entire group only had one dress rehearsal, but thanks to the meticulous preparation, the performance was considered a complete success, leaving a strong impression on the attending delegates.
To create a visual impact and convey a clear message, 100 exemplary union members were selected to stand at the front, wearing blue union shirts and red sashes symbolizing the national flag. The remaining 900 people, wearing red and yellow shirts, formed a perfectly aligned formation, creating a vibrant and dazzling image. At the end, the 100 people in blue shirts formed the letter "V," symbolizing "Vietnam," along with the image of the red flag with a yellow star fluttering next to the words "Nghe An Trade Union."
Sharing her thoughts after the event, worker Nguyen Thi Hoa – a member of the Minh Anh – Kim Lien Garment Company's Trade Union – emphasized: “Although I am just a small link in a large team, I clearly feel honored to participate in the event. Every step was professional and well-organized. The trade union officials were very attentive, creating favorable conditions and inspiring us.”

At the launching ceremony of the 2025 Workers' Month, the Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor once again demonstrated its pioneering role in concretizing care through tangible results. 27 "Trade Union Shelter" houses were donated, each valued at 50 million VND; 107 gift packages, totaling 127 million VND, were given to workers who suffered work-related accidents or were in difficult circumstances; and over 1,000 union members received training to improve their knowledge of occupational safety and hygiene, nutrition, and healthcare.
In particular, the "Workers' Health Day" program helped more than 400 workers receive free health check-ups, medical consultations, and medication right at the event. This series of activities was not ostentatious or formal; everything was organized in the spirit of "putting union members at the center," using substance as the measure of effectiveness. And it is through these concrete actions that the Nghe An Trade Union has affirmed its role in caring for its members and workers.
“I am very happy that the trade union has created opportunities for us to participate in a meaningful activity, which is both enjoyable, physically healthy, and provides us with additional knowledge. After the incident where many colleagues suffered from silicosis, we have come to understand more about the importance of the work that the trade union does, from disseminating legal information and occupational hygiene to providing health check-ups... When the workers stepped onto the central stage not as audience members, but as the main characters of the program, their position was recognized more accurately within the development process. The synchronized steps in the group performance, the radiant eyes after a health check-up, the touching smiles upon receiving a new home… these are the clearest evidence of the effectiveness of a program that is understated yet powerful.
Workers' Month lasts only one month, but the values it evokes—of care, trust, and solidarity—will continue to spread throughout the lives of workers throughout the year. And in that context, the trade union organization is the partner that guides the working class with responsibility and understanding.
Key activities during the 2025 Workers' Month include: the "Creative Workers, Confidently Stepping into a New Era" program, aimed at promoting and encouraging union members and workers to improve their skills and innovate their industrial work style; the "Creative Labor Festival" with competitions for proposing ideas and technical innovation initiatives; the "Party with Workers - Workers with the Party" forum and the "May Dialogue" to listen to and resolve practical issues faced by workers; and the "Thank You to Workers" program with many practical activities to express gratitude.
