(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 27, 2014, the 4th Military Region Command held a conference to appraise and select the logo and approve the plan for the Emulation Congress for Victory of the Armed Forces of the Military Region (2009-2014). Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Cuong, Commander of the Military Region, chaired the conference, and members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the Military Region Command attended the conference.

Through the logo design competition for the Armed Forces of Military Region 4, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Armed Forces' tradition (October 15, 1945 – October 15, 2014), launched by the Military Region Command from December 10, 2012 to January 4, 2014, the headquarters received 60 logo designs from officers and soldiers of the Armed Forces of Military Region 4 and authors from many localities nationwide.

At the competition's organizing committee meeting, seven logo designs were selected for evaluation. As a result, the Military Region Command selected logo design number 7, created by Lieutenant Colonel Phan Thế Hiển from the Military Region's Propaganda Department and Captain Nguyễn Trường Tuệ from the Military Region's Cultural Center. The Command also instructed the permanent office and the authors to further refine and supplement logo number 7 based on four criteria: high artistic value and simplicity; a comprehensive representation of the Military Region's armed forces' traditions; long-term usability; and easy recognition of the Military Region 4's distinctive features, before submitting it to the Military Region Command for approval in the near future.

Also at the conference, the Military Region Command approved the plan for the Emulation Congress of the Armed Forces of the Military Region (2009-2014) to unify the content, time, location, and composition of the Congress; the organization and implementation of the Congress; and the ensuring of the Congress. According to the plan, the Congress will be held in November 2014.
