Opening of National Highway 1 Project, section South of Ben Thuy Bridge - Ha Tinh City

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 19, 2014, in Ha Tinh, the Ministry of Transport - People's Committee of Ha Tinh province held a ceremony to open and put into use National Highway 1, the section from South of Ben Thuy II Bridge to the North of Ha Tinh City.

Attending the ceremony were Party Central Committee members: Uong Chu Luu - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Dinh La Thang - Minister of Transport and leaders of the National Assembly Committees, Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee of Ha Tinh province. On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

The project to expand and upgrade National Highway 1, section from Ben Thuy II Bridge to Ha Tinh City, with a length of nearly 37 km, was invested by Cienco 4 under the BOT form. The total approved investment capital for the project is 2,434 billion VND, funded by the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) under a 4-house credit package, and started on September 7, 2012. To date, after nearly 16 months of construction, the route has been completed 9 months ahead of schedule, saving more than 470 billion VND in construction costs.

After upgrading and expanding, the road meets the standards of a plain road III, with a roadbed width of 20.5m, a design speed of 80km/h, including 4 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for rudimentary vehicles... The project is also a typical project on site clearance and ensuring traffic safety during construction, and was selected by the Ministry of Transport as a model project on ensuring traffic safety and environmental sanitation for projects to expand and upgrade National Highway 1.

Minister of Transport awarded certificates of merit to outstanding individuals

At the inauguration ceremony, Cienco4 leaders signed a cooperation program with the Provincial Youth Union, Traffic Police Department, and Ha Tinh Provincial Police on the implementation of the goal of controlling vehicle load; speed; spilled materials from mines around the area; propagating for people along the route to comply with traffic safety work, contributing to preventing traffic accidents on this route with the goal of "Green - Clean - Beautiful - Safe and Smooth".

Cienco 4 representative signed a cooperation program to ensure traffic safety for the route.

On this occasion, 4 individuals of Cienco 4 were honored to receive certificates of merit from the Prime Minister; 9 groups and individuals received certificates of merit from the Minister of Transport; 6 groups received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province for their achievements in participating in the project implementation. Also at the ceremony, Cienco 4 presented 10 gratitude houses and Tet gifts to the poor people of Ha Tinh province, with a total value of 1 billion VND.

On behalf of the Ministry of Transport, Deputy Minister of Transport Truong Tan Vien acknowledged the efforts of Cienco 4 in working closely with local authorities and sectors in the project's construction, and highly appreciated the local site clearance work. At the end of the ceremony, the leaders of the Central, local and Cienco 4 cut the ribbon to officially open this road section to traffic.
