Half a century of building from hardship

From a small branch of Thanh Chuong 1 High School located in Lang Hoa, in September 1975, Thanh Chuong 3 High School, now Thanh Chuong 3 High School, was officially established - when the country had just emerged from the war, facing many difficulties and shortages. In the midst of hardship, the passion for teaching and learning of teachers and students here still shone brightly, with a simple belief: Learning will open up a bright future for children in poor rural areas.

The first person to lay the foundation for the school was teacher Nguyen Tai Ngo - the first Principal. With his passion and love for the profession, he and the teaching staff built everything from scratch.

Half a century has passed, on the occasion of the school's 50th anniversary, representatives of the Board of Directors and generations of students visited the teacher, as a deepest gratitude to the person who laid the first bricks to build the beloved Thanh Chuong 3 school.

In 1984, the school was moved to a new location in Con Ve - where the school is currently located. This land with beautiful terrain and charming feng shui seems to blend into the enduring lifeblood and tradition of studiousness of the land and people of Cat Ngan.

Through each historical period, despite facing countless difficulties and challenges, generations of administrators, teachers and students of Thanh Chuong 3 High School have always joined hands and hearts to build and nurture their beloved school. It is this perseverance that has created a proud 50-year journey - a journey written from the hearts, passion and dedication of teachers in the central region of Nghe An.

“In the past, we had a very hard time. Both teachers and students tried their best to teach and study, to work, make bricks, build schools… We didn’t have enough food to eat, didn’t have enough clothes to wear, but teachers and students loved and cared for each other very much. It was from that initial foundation that Thanh Chuong 3 High School achieved its current position.”- Teacher Tran Trong Sau - former Principal of the school from 1998 to 2007 affirmed.

Knowledge support for nearly 25 thousand students

50 years, 50 generations of students graduated. No matter the circumstances, Thanh Chuong 3 High School has always been a school with a long tradition of good teaching and good learning, among the top in Nghe An. Nearly 25 thousand students left their beloved school with pride and shining faith. They became leaders, scientists, writers, military men, teachers or businessmen...

Since the early days of its establishment, with the goal of creating a disciplined and orderly learning environment, where students' talents shine and ambitions are nurtured, the school has gradually grown, becoming a support for the dreams of many generations of students.

Today, entering the 50th school year, the school has taken on a new, spacious and modern appearance, from facilities, landscape, campus to teaching and learning quality. That appearance has a great contribution from the old students - the successful children of Cat Ngan land - who returned to support the old school with all their hearts and material.

A typical example is Dr. Vo Van Hong, who donated 2 3-storey school buildings with 39 classrooms, 1 traditional house, a school gate and tens of billions of VND. Eurowindow Holding Joint Stock Company donated 6 modern English classrooms and a door system for the traditional house with a total cost of over 2.2 billion VND. Together with many other kind hearts, these contributions have contributed to creating a spacious, modern and vibrant appearance for this school.

Above all, it is the tireless efforts and dedication of the teachers, who have devoted their hearts and minds to raising the status of Thanh Chuong 3 High School. The quality of the teaching staff is increasingly improved: 100% of the staff and teachers have reached the standard and above standard qualifications; many teachers have been honored with the title of National Excellent Teacher; nearly 30% have achieved the title of excellent teachers and managers at the provincial level; more than 30% of the teachers have a master's degree. Many teachers are core teachers, achieving excellent results in training excellent students, reviewing high school graduation exams, writing experience initiatives...

In particular, in the 2022-2023 school year, the school has teacher Duong Thi Thanh - head of the English group, who is one of four teachers in the country, and the only teacher from Nghe An to win a scholarship to visit, study and exchange teaching experiences in the United States. This is an honor and pride for Thanh Chuong 3 High School and the provincial education sector.

Following the tradition of its predecessors, with its teaching achievements, Thanh Chuong 3 High School has risen to the top of the Nghe An Education and Training sector. The quality of mass education at the school has been clearly improved. In recent years, the school has invested in modern, spacious facilities: from the school building system, experimental practice area, foreign language classrooms, to the outdoor reading and experience area, spacious and airy playground...

The school has always affirmed its position in competitions for gifted students: With 3 national excellent students in Literature, Geography and Chemistry; Excellent students of the province for many consecutive years in the top group; For 3 consecutive years from 2022-2025, the school has had students recognized by the Provincial People's Committee, including 4 top university valedictorians.

In particular, Thanh Chuong 3 High School has built a model of an active and effective House of Wisdom, spreading the reading and lifelong learning culture movement inside and outside the school, attracting many localities to study and exchange experiences. The milestone of 50 years

50 years have passed in the school built on difficult land. The school is very honored and proud to have received many noble awards from the President three times: in 1995, the Third Class Labor Medal, in 2001, the Second Class Labor Medal, and in 2025, the Third Class Labor Medal for the second time.

Thanh Chuong 3 High School is one of the first high schools in Nghe An province to be recognized as a national standard school: In 2009, it achieved national standards level 1, and in 2022, it was recognized as a national standard school level 2.

The school has been awarded 29 certificates of merit by the Prime Minister, the Minister of Education and Training and the Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee along with many other noble awards.
