(Baonghean.vn) – Separated from the Quynh Luu Bird Club in 2013, the Cau Giat Bird Club is home to 11 members with nearly 50 cages. Although it is only 3 years old, the members' passion for birds has made the Club a prestigious address in the Nghe An bird village.

Mr. Tran Quy Phuong (Chairman of Cau Giat Bird Club) said: The Club's birds have competed in many provinces and won many prizes. Members also own many valuable birds, some of which cost up to thousands of USD in bird cages alone. |
Mr. Tran Quy Phuong's red-whiskered bulbul was entered into the top 20 of the inter-provincial competition on March 26, 2006 at Cau Giat. This competition gathered 290 cages from 8 provinces: Hanoi, Hue, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Ha Tinh, Nam Dinh, Nghe An. |

Doves are also raised in large numbers, giving a deep cooing sound. |
A starling is chirping in the early morning. Previously, bird owners often raised birds such as turtledoves, nightingales, white-rumped shama, and thrushes. Nowadays, everyone focuses on raising starlings to compete according to the consensus of the bird-keeping community nationwide. In addition, in Nghe An, there is only one starling club in Vinh City. |
The white-rumped bulbul (a genetic mutation with white feathers and a white crest) costs up to nearly one hundred million dong. |
To raise the level of the birds, bird cages are also invested. A bird cage is carved from bamboo, the bait and water troughs are all meticulously cared for by the player. |

The bottom of the bird cage of Mr. Tran Quy Phuong, originally from Vac village (Thanh Oai) is carved with the image of "two dragons facing the moon". |

Bamboo embossed motifs of the cage based on the story "Eight Immortals and Beasts" made by artisan Doan Minh Can (Hue). |

Not only adults have a hobby of bird keeping but children also enjoy it. |
Not only simply bird-keeping, the club's activities have also focused on charity work. In the 2016 season at Cau Giat, the club auctioned off two bird cages and the artists donated a total of 12 million VND. This amount was donated to the town's scholarship fund and the Cau Giat primary school's scholarship fund.
