Seized 11kg of drugs, 5 billion VND and "hot goods" in transnational drug ring

On the afternoon of April 21, the Investigation Police Agency of Tay Ninh Province prosecuted the case, prosecuting 10 defendants including Lim So Thea (34 years old), Buy Bunly (51 years old, all residing in Cambodia); Trieu Quang Khanh (19 years old), Nguyen Hoang Sang (25 years old), Pham Hong Thai (25 years old, all residing in Tay Ninh); Nguyen Thai Son (30 years old), Le Quoc Trung (27 years old), Ngo Quoc Anh (27 years old), Phung Hong Huy (41 years old) and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thuy (24 years old, residing in Ho Chi Minh City) for the act of illegally transporting and trading drugs.

Previously, on March 22, Tay Ninh Provincial Police coordinated with Tan Bien District Police to dismantle a large-scale drug trafficking ring across the border, arresting the above subjects. The seized exhibits included: More than 11kg of various drugs; more than 5 billion VND, 1 K59 pistol, 6 bullets, 4 switchblades; 2 pepper sprays, 4 motorbikes, 1 car... The source of drugs transported to Tay Ninh and then to Ho Chi Minh City for consumption was led by Huy.

Arriving in Tay Ninh, Huy continued to hire Thai for 20 million VND/trip to receive "goods" to transport to Ho Chi Minh City for consumption.

This line has been operating since 2017, in which Huy assigned each member of the line. Huy contacted people in Cambodia to order the quantity of drugs including crystal meth, ketamine, and ecstasy. Then, Huy hired Cambodians to transport them from Phnom Penh, Cambodia to Vietnam.
