Seized 35 more tons of stinky, maggot-infested bamboo shoots in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On April 15, authorities continued to discover and confiscate at the facility of Mr. Duong Van Loi, residing in Tan Thanh 2 block, Le Mao ward, Vinh city (Nghe An) 35 tons of bamboo shoots that smelled bad and had maggots.

On the morning of April 15, the Department of Criminal Investigation on Economic Management and Positions (Provincial Police) coordinated with the Nghe An Market Management Department and the Environmental Police Team (Vinh City Police) to inspect Mr. Duong Van Loi's bamboo shoot warehouse at Block 1, Vinh Tan Ward, Vinh City.
Here, the authorities discovered 330 barrels and 70 sacks of snake carcasses containing bamboo shoots of unknown origin that smelled foul and even had maggots around the mouth of the barrels. The authorities sealed all the bamboo shoots to handle them according to the law.

Previously, on April 12, Mr. Loi's production facility in Tan Thanh 2 block, Le Mao ward, Vinh city was inspected by the city police and discovered more than 5 tons of smelly bamboo shoots with maggots mixed in.
The authorities have drawn up a record of administrative violations against Mr. Loi for failing to present a food safety certificate.
