Urgent recall of poor quality pain relievers and fever reducers

The Drug Administration of Vietnam - Ministry of Health has just issued an Official Dispatch suspending the circulation and recalling Sarinex hard capsules nationwide that do not meet quality standards.

Accordingly, Sarinex hard capsule (Celecoxib 200mg), batch number: M-005, expiry date: December 21, 2019, registration number: VN-11567-10 manufactured by Efroze Chemical Industries (Pvt) Ldt, Pakistan, imported by Ha Tay Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company was suspended from circulation and recalled nationwide by the Drug Administration of Vietnam because the drug did not meet quality standards for solubility.

The Drug Administration of Vietnam requires Ha Tay Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company to coordinate with suppliers and distributors to urgently send the Department's recall notice to distribution and usage locations of Sarinex hard capsules (Celecoxib 200mg), batch number: M-005, expiry date: December 21, 2019, registration number: VN-11567-10 and recall the entire batch of this drug.

At the same time, Ha Tay Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company must send a recall report to the Department of Drug Administration before December 3, 2017. The recall dossier includes the imported quantity, import date, recalled quantity, and evidence of recall implementation at wholesale, retail, and user establishments that purchased the drug according to the provisions of Circular No. 09/2010/TT-BYT dated April 28, 2010 of the Ministry of Health guiding the management of drug quality.

The Drug Administration also requests the Department of Health of provinces and cities across the country, and the Health Departments of all sectors to notify drug trading and using establishments to recall the above batch of substandard drugs, inspect and supervise units implementing this notice; handle violators according to current regulations; report to the Drug Administration and relevant authorities.
