On the afternoon of August 14th in Hanoi, the General Department of Taxation continued to sign cooperation agreements to implement electronic tax payment services with 15 domestic and foreign banks.

Accordingly, the banks that signed the agreement include: Ocean Bank, Vietnam Commercial Bank, ANZ Vietnam, HSBC Vietnam, Standard Chartered Bank, Shinhan Bank Vietnam, Vietnam-Russia Bank, Vid Public Bank, Indovina Bank, Tokyo Mitsubishi Bank, Mizuho Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Cambodia Investment and Development Bank, Bangkok Bank Hanoi Branch, and BNP Paribas Ho Chi Minh City Branch.

With the online tax payment service, taxpayers can pay taxes anytime, anywhere (24 hours a day, 7 days a week), while also monitoring their tax payments through their accounts and utilizing other preferential value-added services offered by the bank. The online tax payment process also helps the Tax authorities to promptly and accurately obtain information about taxpayers, minimizing the need for corrections due to errors.

Representatives from the General Department of Taxation stated that they will continue to coordinate the expansion of online tax payment services with all domestic and foreign banks nationwide, as well as online tax declaration service providers. The tax sector will also expand the deployment of online tax payment services to businesses, ensuring that 90% of businesses participate in online tax payment in 2015, as directed by the Prime Minister.

To date, the online tax payment service has been implemented in all 63 provinces and cities and over 700 districts/counties nationwide. Over 398,000 businesses have registered to use the service with the tax authorities, and over 327,000 businesses have successfully registered for the online tax payment service with banks. The total amount collected into the state budget through the online tax payment portal from the beginning of 2015 to date has reached over 40,700 billion VND.
