Attracting tourists by linking tourism product development

Within the framework of the 2014 Bac Giang Province Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival, on October 4, the Bac Giang Province Tourism Development Steering Committee coordinated with the General Department of Tourism, the Tourism Association, and the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, and Hai Duong provinces to organize the Workshop "Linking Development of Tourism in Bac Giang - Thai Nguyen - Hai Duong - Quang Ninh".

Linking tourism development between localities will allow exploiting each other's advantages in terms of tourism resources, infrastructure, technical facilities and other resources for tourism development; creating products with higher competitiveness for stakeholders, thereby attracting investors and tourists to each locality...

The four provinces of Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, Hai Duong and Quang Ninh have rich tourism resources, imbued with humanity and national identity, and diverse eco-tourism resources. With these advantages, if they are united and carry out cooperation and development well, the four provinces will have new tourism products with high competitiveness, attracting investors and a large number of tourists, and tourism will become an economic sector that contributes significantly to the economic development of each locality.

Speaking at the workshop, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Tourism Ha Van Sieu said that to promote tourism development linkages, provinces need to strengthen linkages in developing tourism products. Each province needs to rely on its own potential and strengths and find similarities to create suitable products to serve tourists, find differences to create unique products typical of each locality or the whole region.

The four provinces need to cooperate in tourism promotion and advertising; cooperate in human resource development; cooperate in tourism development planning among localities. Localities need to upgrade, complete and modernize the road system, technical service facilities and tourism infrastructure because the transport infrastructure plays a decisive role in facilitating tourists.

Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Giang Nguyen The Chinh affirmed: “Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, Hai Duong, Quang Ninh all have rich tourism resources, with rich humanistic tourism resources, imbued with national identity and diverse eco-tourism resources. With a relatively favorable geographical location and distance along Highway 37, tourists can travel to ATK Dinh Hoa tourist sites, Nui Coc Lake in Thai Nguyen province, ATK Hiep Hoa, Bo Da Pagoda, ancient Quan Ho villages, traditional craft villages along the North bank of Cau River, or from Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, Suoi Mo eco-tourism area, Khuon Than Lake, Cam Son, Khe Ro primeval forest, Ban Mau, Dong Thong area in Tay Yen Tu tourist route can connect with Dong Yen Tu tourist route in Quang Ninh province or Con Son - Kiep Bac relic site in Hai Duong province...

With the above advantages, if the four localities are united, effectively carry out the linkage, develop new tourism products with high competitiveness, attract investors and a large number of tourists, then tourism will become an economic sector that contributes significantly to the economic development of each locality.

At the Workshop, most delegates shared the same assessment that, with the above advantages, it is hoped that Bac Giang and other provinces will combine their strengths and share benefits to create new tourism products, attract tourists, and contribute to the development of tourism and socio-economic development of each province.

Also at the workshop, a signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement on tourism development took place between the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Tourism Association of 4 provinces: Bac Giang - Thai Nguyen - Hai Duong - Quang Ninh./.
