Attracting tourists through collaborative tourism product development.

Within the framework of the 2014 Bac Giang Province Ethnic Groups' Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival, on October 4th, the Bac Giang Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee, in coordination with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the Tourism Association, and the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, and Hai Duong provinces, organized the seminar "Linking Tourism Development between Bac Giang - Thai Nguyen - Hai Duong - Quang Ninh".

Linking tourism development between localities will allow for the exploitation of each other's advantages in tourism resources, infrastructure, technical facilities, and other resources for tourism development; creating products with higher competitiveness for stakeholders, thereby attracting investors and tourists to each locality...

The four provinces of Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, Hai Duong, and Quang Ninh possess abundant tourism resources, rich in humanistic values ​​and national identity, as well as diverse ecological tourism resources. With these advantages, if they work together and effectively implement cooperative development, the four provinces will create new, highly competitive tourism products, attracting investors and a large number of tourists. Tourism will become an economic sector contributing significantly to the economic development of each locality.

Speaking at the workshop, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Ha Van Sieu, stated that to promote tourism development linkages, provinces need to strengthen cooperation in developing tourism products. Each province should rely on its inherent potential and strengths, identifying similarities to create suitable products to serve tourists, and finding differences to create unique products characteristic of each locality or the entire region.

The four provinces need to cooperate in tourism promotion and marketing; collaborate in human resource development; and coordinate tourism development planning among localities. Localities need to upgrade, improve, and modernize their road systems, technical service facilities, and tourism infrastructure, as transportation infrastructure plays a crucial role in facilitating tourism.

Director of the Bac Giang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nguyen The Chinh, affirmed: “Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, Hai Duong, and Quang Ninh all possess abundant tourism resources, with rich cultural tourism resources, strong national identity, and diverse ecological tourism resources. With a relatively convenient geographical location and distance along National Highway 37, tourists can travel to tourist destinations such as Dinh Hoa Revolutionary Base Area, Nui Coc Lake in Thai Nguyen province, Hiep Hoa Revolutionary Base Area, Bo Da Pagoda, ancient Quan Ho villages, traditional craft villages along the northern bank of the Cau River, or from Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, Suoi Mo ecological tourist area, Khuon Than Lake, Cam Son, Khe Ro primeval forest, Ban Mau, Dong Thong area in the Tay Yen Tu tourist route, they can connect with the Dong Yen Tu tourist route in Quang Ninh province or the Con Son - Kiet Bac historical site in Hai Duong province…”

With these advantages, if the four localities work together and effectively develop new, highly competitive tourism products that attract investors and a large number of tourists, then tourism will become an economic sector that contributes significantly to the economic development of each locality.”

At the workshop, most delegates shared the same assessment: with the aforementioned advantages, it is hoped that Bac Giang and other provinces will combine their strengths and share benefits to create new tourism products that attract tourists, contributing to the overall development of tourism and socio-economic development in each province.

Also at the workshop, a memorandum of understanding on tourism development cooperation was signed between the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Tourism Associations of four provinces: Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, Hai Duong, and Quang Ninh.
