Top student in Quynh district

(Baonghean) - In the 2015 National High School Graduation Examination, Tran Ngoc Linh, a student in class 12A2, achieved 29.25 points in Block B (Mathematics: 9.75 points, Chemistry: 10 points, Biology: 9.5 points), making her the highest-scoring student in Quynh Luu district across all exam blocks used for university admission this year.

Tran Ngoc Linh was born in Hamlet 7, Quynh Hong Commune (Quynh Luu District). Both his parents were teachers. He has two siblings, and Ngoc Linh is the eldest son.

From a very young age, Linh showed exceptional intelligence. While attending kindergarten at age 5, she won first prize in the district-wide "Smart and Quick-Witted Child" competition. Her parents were very concerned about her studies but didn't put pressure on her. Instead, they regularly communicated with her and her teachers to understand her learning progress and support her in overcoming any psychological difficulties related to school and learning. In fifth grade, Linh won second prize in the district-wide "Mathematics for Young Children" competition.

With outstanding academic achievements in primary school, Tran Ngoc Linh was directly admitted to the gifted class at Ho Xuan Huong Specialized Secondary School (Quynh Luu). At the district school, under the guidance of enthusiastic and highly qualified teachers, Ngoc Linh achieved increasingly high academic results. For four consecutive years, from grades 6 to 9, she consistently achieved the title of all-around excellent student; in grade 9, she won second prize in the district-level excellent student competition and third prize in the provincial-level excellent student competition in Mathematics. After graduating from secondary school, Linh passed the entrance exams for Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School and Vinh University Specialized High School, but she chose to attend Quynh Luu 1 High School instead.

At the school with the highest academic achievements in the district, her passion for learning was nurtured and developed very well. She always knew how to create a reasonable timetable and a specific study plan for each subject. Therefore, Ngoc Linh said that to study well, one doesn't need to study too late at night, but rather focus intensely during study time. Besides studying, she still dedicates time to sports and extracurricular activities to help her relax and maintain good health for more effective learning. For three consecutive years in high school, Tran Ngoc Linh achieved the title of all-around excellent student; in the four mock university entrance exams organized by Quynh Luu 1 High School, Linh consistently achieved the highest scores in the school... In the 2015 national high school graduation exam, plus 1 point for regional priority, Linh achieved 31.25 points in Block B (she also achieved 26.5 points in Block A).

Speaking about his outstanding student Tran Ngoc Linh, Mr. Pham Van Truong, homeroom teacher of class 12A2, who teaches Chemistry at Quynh Luu 1 High School, shared: “Tran Ngoc Linh is one of the best students I have ever taught. Besides being very intelligent, what is most valuable about him is his high determination in studying and his very creative self-study methods.”

When asked about her study methods to achieve good results, Linh shared: “Besides mastering the basic knowledge in textbooks and the lessons taught by teachers in class, I do additional research to reinforce, expand, and enhance my knowledge. For Math, I try to practice presenting my answers scientifically and logically, and I also solve more difficult problems to hone my mathematical thinking. As for Chemistry and Biology, which are multiple-choice subjects, I need to thoroughly understand the theory in the textbooks and practice solving problems quickly by doing practice exams.” - What is your dream university? “My dream is to become a good doctor to take care of the health of my family and community. I hope that with the score I achieved, I will be admitted to Hanoi Medical University...” - Linh shared.
