(Baonghean.vn) - Top student of block B, Ho Phi Khanh, shared that he had previously only focused on Math and Chemistry. Only when the exam day was near did he suddenly fill in the blank for Biology.

In this year's exam, Nghe An cluster, Ho Phi Khanh (12A1 student, Hoang Mai High School) was the only candidate to get 3 scores of 10 in Math, Chemistry and Biology.

Nghe An Newspaper reporter quickly contacted Ho Phi Khanh and had a conversation about the review process for the national high school exam of the new top student in block B.

Don't learn things that are too difficult.

Khanh was not too surprised about the exam score because after the exam, she had already known the result by comparing the answers. However, until now, she still has not gotten over the feeling of happiness.

"From morning until now, knowing that I got a perfect score in the 2017 National High School Exam, relatives, teachers and friends have continuously called and come to my house to congratulate me," Khanh happily shared.

Teacher Nguyen Ba Vinh, principal of Hoang Mai High School, excitedly said: "This is the first time the school has had a national valedictorian. The gift is even more meaningful as it comes on the occasion of the school's 20th anniversary. Along with Khanh, class 12A1 has 9 students who scored 27 points or more, including 3 students who scored 29.6 and 29.3 points. This is the best result ever achieved by the school's students."

Khanh is the youngest son in a farming family in Quynh Di commune, Quynh Luu district. Due to his poor circumstances, Khanh did not study much. Sharing his secret to getting 3 10s, the honest student said: “I don’t think I have any great secret. All the knowledge in the textbooks, I just need to grasp and study well in it.

The most important thing is to determine for yourself what you need to learn in the national high school exam. Do not study and try to solve practice tests that are too difficult, do not study outside the limited program. When doing practice tests, you also need to be selective, the questions should be as close to the sample test questions of the Ministry of Education and Training as possible.

Of the three subjects, Khanh is most confident in Math and Chemistry because he has a good foundation and has prepared a lot of materials. As for Biology, Khanh said he only focused on studying about 2 months before the exam.

"Although I decided to take the B block exam, to be honest, I had always studied whatever subject I liked, very erratically. When the exam was near, I suddenly realized that something was wrong, and had to invest time to fill in the gap in Biology," Khanh said innocently.

The more wrong, the better

Biology is also the only subject Khanh has registered for extra classes. In addition to class time, Khanh searches for more documents and information on the Internet, and registers for some online classes.

On the first day of attending the "virtual" online class, Khanh recalled: "On the first knowledge test when I registered for the online class, I only got 5/20 questions correct. But I was not sad or worried about that. Biology knowledge is actually broader than Math and Chemistry, and it is easy to get the wrong answer if you do not read the question carefully. For me, the more mistakes I make, the better, because I will remember the mistakes I made longer, so that when I take the real test later, I can do it correctly."

Mr. Thinh Van Nam, Khanh's online teacher, shared: "Although we have never met in real life, but only communicated directly through online classes, I am very impressed with this student from Nghe An.

Khanh is an intelligent student, has an independent mindset in studying, does not follow the crowd, knows how to separate himself to know what he needs to learn, what he lacks to promptly supplement and fill in the gaps. If there is anything he does not understand, he boldly asks the teachers.

Khanh's success also comes from failures: Several times when taking the excellent student exam, she was always nervous, the closer the exam date, the more she tried to study. But later, she realized that she was putting pressure on herself, placing too many expectations on herself. At the national high school exam, she learned her lesson, studied lightly, and stayed healthy.

This careful preparation helped Khanh have a very easy exam. With a perfect score, Khanh is confident that he will get a place at Hanoi Medical University and take the first step to realizing his dream of becoming a doctor.
