(Baonghean.vn) - Thai Nhat Linh is the most outstanding candidate in this year's 10th grade entrance exam with 28.5 points (Literature 9 points - Foreign Language 10 points - Math 9.5 points) and holds the position of "Top student" in the province.

For teachers at Dang Thai Mai Secondary School, this is not a surprising result because for many years Linh has been a good student, studying all subjects equally. However, for Linh herself, she is quite surprised with this achievement, because there are many subjects she did not think she could "breakthrough" so spectacularly.

Linh has 3 siblings, Linh and her older sister are twins and study in class 9D. Compared to her older sister, Linh admits that she is a poor student, especially in Math, and in the mock exams she is not the best student in the class. Even in studying, Linh said that she is not a "bookworm" and her studies are quite easy, besides taking extra classes at school, she does not take many extra classes outside.

To achieve this outstanding result, Linh said that the “acceleration” period was very important. During that time, Linh both consolidated and mastered the knowledge in the textbooks. In addition, she tried to practice questions to solve more advanced exercises.

During the exam preparation process, Linh also tried to practice her test-taking skills, to be both correct and precise, but also meticulous in order to win the sympathy of the teachers and examiners. This is also the reason why in this year's exam, in addition to English being her forte because Linh majored in English, Linh also tried hard to get a 9 in Literature and "did better than expected" in Math and got 9.5 points.

At Dang Thai Mai Secondary School, Linh and her sister were also outstanding students and in this year's 10th grade entrance exam, both sisters were admitted to the English major class at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted. It is worth mentioning that Linh registered for the English major just to test herself, because before that, with an IELTS score of 7.0, Linh was almost certain to be admitted directly.

Foreign languages are also Linh's favorite subject since 8th grade. In addition to English, Linh has registered for a course to learn Chinese and can now use it quite well. She is also studying German on her own and aims to conquer Russian, French and Spanish.

Talking more about this special hobby, Linh shared: I really like watching sports, especially football. However, there are many TV channels that keep copyright so they do not translate into Vietnamese and I cannot understand what the players say. Therefore, I try to learn many languages to satisfy my hobby of watching football.

Strong personality, fond of extracurricular activities, sports are also outstanding characteristics of Linh. Therefore, Linh now not only plays many sports but also tries her hand at many musical instruments such as guitar and organ.

During her 9 years of high school, Linh was always an excellent student and won first prize at the Childhood Exchange Contest organized by the Vinh City Department of Education and Training in grade 5. In grade 9, Linh won third prize in the City's English Competition. One of Linh's special memories when she first started school was that she studied in grade 1 for 2 consecutive years. This is also a special memory, because Linh's mother taught primary school at Hermann Gmeiner High School. When the two sisters were only 5 years old, Linh and her older sister entered the class their mother taught as official members. At the end of the school year, despite her good results, Linh still studied in grade 1 for an additional year because she wanted to study with her peers.

To succeed in competitions, the valedictorian of grade 10 in Nghe An province also said: You should not set your goals too high in competitions but create a comfortable mindset for yourself. Moreover, creating pressure will only make you more anxious and not achieve the expected results.

Linh's class 9D is also the class with outstanding achievements at Dang Thai Mai Secondary School this school year. Teacher Nguyen Thi Tu Oanh - the class's homeroom teacher also said: Up to now, it is expected that 26/33 students of the class will be admitted to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted. In addition to the valedictorian of grade 10, the class has 2 students Phan Khanh Linh and Pham Thao Chi, who are also valedictorians of English majors. The average score of the class on the 10th grade entrance exam is 25.86 points, of which, Math is 8.15 points, Literature is 8.55 points and English is 9.19 points.
