South Korean presidential secretary resigns over corruption scandal
With the departure of Mr. Jun Byung-hun, the anti-corruption campaign initiated by South Korean President Moon Jae-in will be more or less affected.
Yonhap quoted Mr. Jun Byung-hun telling reporters that he had nothing to do with the corruption scandal in which two of his former aides were involved and was ready to face an investigation.

“I am very disappointed that I have caused difficulties for the President even though I tried my best to serve him, even if it was only for a short time,” Jun Byung-hun said.
“I would like to apologize once again for the shameful actions of the two former aides. I will explain my position at a trial that will take place at any time,” Jun Byung-hun added.
Jun Byung-hun's resignation offer came just a day after prosecutors said questioning him over a scandal involving two of his aides was "unavoidable".
This scandal has put South Korean President Moon Jae-in in a "dilemma" because the anti-corruption campaign he initiated has been more or less affected.
Although Mr. Jun Byung-hun has denied the allegations related to the above corruption scandal, the Korean public is still concerned that he could become a political "debt" to the newly established government of Mr. Moon Jae-in and create momentum for opposition factions to launch strong attacks against President Moon Jae-in.
