Goalkeeper Tan Truong is one of 7 members of Hanoi FC called up by coach Park Hang-seo to the Vietnam national team in the second training session in 2022.

BeforeRound 2 of V-League 2022, Tan Truong unfortunately contracted Covid-19 along with 3 goalkeepers and many other players of Hanoi FC. Therefore, the capital team could not play in round 2 against Viettel and round 3 against Nam Dinh. Previously, because Thanh Hoa also had many F0 cases, Hanoi FC's opening match had to be postponed.

To prepare for the match against Ho Chi Minh City in round 4, Hanoi FC conducted a PCR test and Tan Truong received a negative result. However, close to the match day, Hanoi FC tested again and surprisingly, Tan Truong was reinfected.

Tan Truong only practiced one day after recovering from Covid-19, but when he relapsed, the team immediately quarantined him. Therefore, he was not on the list of players registered for the match against Ho Chi Minh City on the evening of March 12.

Unable to play for Hanoi FC, Tan Truong will also be absent from the Vietnam National Team's gathering on March 14 due to not meeting medical safety requirements. Immediately, Coach Park had a "firefighting" plan by calling up SLNA goalkeeper Van Hoang.

Currently, the Vietnam national team has goalkeepers Tran Nguyen Manh, Nguyen Tuan Manh and new player Vu Tuyen Quang. Among them, Nguyen Manh is considered the most promising candidate for the position in the goal when the Vietnam national team faces Oman (March 24) and Japan (March 29).

He and Van Hoang are also two goalkeepers with high performance in V-League 2022 after the last 4 rounds. Both have helped their home teams Viettel and HAGL to only concede 2 goals so far. In previous training sessions, Van Hoang also regularly participated.

Vietnam will host Oman at My Dinh Stadium before visiting Japan 5 days later. The goal of Coach Park's team is to win 3 points against Oman.
