Goalkeeper turns back to let opponent score, asks VFF to reduce penalty to return to V.League soon
Nguyen Minh Nhut, who once turned his back to let the opponent score, asked VFF to reduce his penalty so he can play again and earn a living to support his family.

- How has your life been over the past year, after the VFF's penalty?
- I received a two-year ban, everything turned upside down. From a player who was allowed to practice and compete every day, I was suddenly "suspended", I felt like the sky was falling. Just a moment of rashness and impulsiveness and I lost everything, I regret it very much.
For the past year, I didn’t know what to do and I was still passionate about football, so I asked to go to Thanh Hoa to “practice” with this team, hoping they would take me in. Then I asked to go back to Long An to practice for a while to maintain my fitness. Currently, I asked to practice with Nam Dinh Club.
- How was your family affected when you received the sentence?
- I am the breadwinner of the family but I have implicated them. My mother is 61 years old and has been on dialysis for two years now. My two children, one is three years old and the other is six years old, are still in school. My family's life is really difficult. Every time I think about them, I cry. Just because of my one mistake, the whole family has to suffer.
- Besides family life, what other reasons made you ask VFF to reduce your sentence?
- I am still very passionate about football. Moreover, only playing football can give me income to support my family. Over the past year, I have been very remorseful and know my mistakes. I have served my sentence very well. Now, I just hope that the uncles and aunts at the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) will have mercy on me and reduce my sentence so that I can return to football.
I want to go back to make up for my mistakes.
