Nghe An's budget revenue in 5 months is estimated at over 10,113 billion VND
(Baonghean.vn) - Thanks to the implementation of many synchronous and effective solutions, Nghe An province's budget revenue in May is estimated at 1,626.5 billion VND, and the cumulative revenue in 5 months is estimated at 10,113.9 billion VND, reaching 63.6% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council, equal to 139% of the same period in 2023.
On the afternoon of May 24, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the regular meeting of May 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee.
Attending the meeting were comrades: Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Bui Thanh An - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van De - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of relevant departments, branches, sectors and units.

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Committee listened to and commented on the report on the implementation of the socio-economic development plan; the report on the implementation of the state budget and financial tasks in May, and the key tasks and solutions for June 2024.
Reports and opinions unanimously assessed that in May, agricultural production continued to develop steadily; spring rice had a good harvest in all three criteria: output, quality and selling price.
The Provincial People's Committee has issued a decision to recognize 2 communes meeting new rural standards, 16 communes meeting advanced new rural standards, and 2 model new rural communes.

Thus, as of May 15, the whole province had 319/411 communes meeting new rural standards, accounting for 77.62% of the total number of communes; 83/319 communes meeting advanced new rural standards; 12/319 communes meeting model new rural standards; 9 district-level units completing tasks and meeting new rural standards.
The province's production and business situation continues to recover positively. The industrial production index in May is estimated to increase by 13.15%, and the cumulative increase in the first 5 months is estimated to increase by 9.37%. By May 20, the concentrated public investment capital managed by the province had disbursed more than VND 1,252 billion, reaching 27.07%, 17.4% higher than the same period in 2023.

Service and tourism activities all had quite strong growth. Export turnover in 5 months was estimated at 1,107.7 million USD, up 10.98%. In May, the number of tourists reached 1.05 million, total revenue from tourism reached 3,678 billion VND.
International cooperation and integration activities continue to be effectively implemented. Thanks to that, it has contributed to attracting investment more and more actively. In May, the total newly registered and adjusted capital was 341.9 billion VND. Since the beginning of the year, the province has newly granted 31 projects and adjusted 65 projects with a total capital of more than 15,756 billion VND, of which the newly granted investment capital increased 1.07 times compared to the same period.

Cultural and sports activities took place enthusiastically, and activities to celebrate the 134th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh were well organized. The education sector focused on directing the completion of the school year's tasks, preparing well for the 10th grade entrance exam and the high school graduation exam. Activities to connect labor supply and demand and create jobs were enhanced.

The Provincial People's Committee has actively coordinated with ministries and branches to complete the dossier of the Resolution on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Nghe An province to submit to the National Assembly at the 7th Session; completed major projects; promoted administrative reform, digital transformation, and implemented Project 06. National defense and security have been ensured, and social order and safety have been maintained.
In addition to the achieved results, the Provincial People's Committee also frankly assessed that in the disbursement of public investment capital, some capital sources are still slow. Nghe An's Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in 2023 ranked 44th, down 21 places compared to 2022.

In addition, production and business activities of enterprises are still facing difficulties, the number of enterprises registering to resume operations has decreased, and some industrial products have seen lower growth compared to the same period last year. The epidemic situation in livestock and crops is still complicated.
