Nghe An province's budget revenue in 2024 is estimated at 24,797 billion VND, exceeding the provincial People's Council's target by 55.9% and increasing by 15.3% compared to 2023.
On the morning of December 25th, Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - presided over the regular meeting of the Provincial People's Committee to hear, evaluate, and discuss the socio-economic development situation in December and 2024; the plan and tasks for the first quarter of 2025; and many other important issues.
Attending the session were: Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Bui Thanh An - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van De - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
The meeting was attended by members of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of departments and agencies, and leaders of 21 districts, cities, and towns via online format.
Reporting on the socio-economic development situation in December and 2024, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment Pham Hong Quang stated that in 2024, the growth rate of the province's gross regional product (GRDP) is estimated at 9.01%, ranking 13th nationwide.

Specifically, the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector is estimated to grow by 4.14%; the industry and construction sector by 13.61%; and the service sector by 7.88%.
State budget revenue is estimated at 24,797 billion VND, reaching 155.9% of the provincial People's Council's projected target and increasing by 15.3% compared to 2023. This marks the third consecutive year exceeding the 20,000 billion VND mark and is close to the target set by the 19th Provincial Party Congress.
Agricultural, forestry, and fisheries production continued to maintain stable growth. Industrial production recovered strongly, with the industrial production index in 2024 estimated to increase by 15%. Total export turnover is estimated at 3.7 billion USD, of which merchandise export turnover is estimated at 3.215 billion USD.

In 2024, the province is estimated to receive 9.45 million tourists, including 5.93 million overnight visitors and 120,500 international visitors. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at 28,569 billion VND, of which tourism-related revenue is estimated at 11,160 billion VND.
By the end of 2024, it is projected that the province will have 327 communes meeting the new rural standards, 127 communes meeting the advanced new rural standards, 25 communes meeting the model new rural standards, and 11 district-level units completing their tasks and meeting the new rural standards.
As of December 20, 2024, the province's total public investment plan has disbursed over VND 7,547 billion, reaching 73.35%, and is expected to reach over 95% by the end of 2024. Projects, especially key projects, have been completed and put into use on schedule.

Attracting investment continues to be a bright spot, with the total newly registered and increased investment capital reaching over 61,488 billion VND; of which FDI capital is expected to reach nearly 1.7 billion USD, the highest ever, placing it in the top 10 nationwide.
Cultural, social, and social welfare sectors have received attention and achieved more positive and noticeable results. From the beginning of 2023 to the present, the entire province has mobilized over 843.19 billion VND through various forms, supporting the construction and repair of 11,787 houses, reaching 75% of the plan for the entire 2023-2025 period.
Administrative reform efforts have seen positive changes; the implementation of Government Decree No. 06 has yielded high results. The Provincial People's Committee has issued a plan on restructuring and streamlining the organizational apparatus of the provincial government.
National defense and security continue to be firmly strengthened, and social order and safety are ensured. Foreign affairs work continues to be implemented effectively with many outstanding and comprehensive activities in various fields.

Despite the achievements, African swine fever is still developing complicatedly in many districts, cities, and towns. The production of some industrial products in December is expected to decrease compared to the same period in 2023.
Some funding sources have low disbursement rates, such as: the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas (52.8%), the National Target Program for sustainable poverty reduction (33.34%), and long-term funding (47.14%).
Four districts (Kỳ Sơn, Tương Dương, Quế Phong, and Con Cuông) and three project owners (Nghe An Oncology Hospital, the Provincial Management Board for Investment and Construction of Civil and Industrial Works, and the Department of Transport) have a large amount of undisbursed capital remaining.
