Nghe An people's income increased more than 1.4 times after 4 years

(Baonghean.vn) - This is the information given by Director of the Department of Planning and Investment Nguyen Van Do when presenting the assessment of 4 years of implementing Resolution 26 of the Politburo on the direction and tasks for the development of Nghe An province until 2020 at the regular September 2017 Reporters' Conference on the morning of September 19.

Accordingly, after 4 years of implementing Resolution 26, the socio-economy continues to develop and people's lives are increasingly improved.

Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) from 2014-2017 increased by an average of 7.43%, reaching 7.59% in 2016; GRDP per capita increased quite rapidly: in 2013 it only reached 22.96 million VND/person, but in 2017 it is expected to reach 33 million VND, 1.43 times higher than in 2013.

Identifying investment attraction as a driving force for development, the province has implemented many solutions to improve the investment and business environment in an open and favorable direction for investors.

In 2016, Nghe An increased 7 ranks, ranking 25th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide in terms of provincial competitiveness index (PCI).

Investment attraction results in the four years 2014-2017 were high with 446 projects, total investment capital of 169,387 billion VND. Along with that, the province invests in building infrastructure systems, especially in transportation, creating momentum for the province's socio-economic development.

One of the contents that the province focuses on implementing is the Prime Minister's Decision to build Vinh City into a center of finance, trade, tourism, science - technology, information technology, high-tech industry, healthcare, culture, sports, education - training; together with Cua Lo, to develop into an economic growth pole and spearhead of the province's growth.
